AST Environmental is at forefront of innovation in environmental remediation. As leaders in in situ injection for over 20 years, we have developed proprietary techniques and equipment that allow us to tackle the most challenging environmental projects, contaminants, and geologies. Our experience and expertise in in situ injection and construction services sets us apart from other contractors. Everything we develop or recommend for our clients is unique and site-specific to the project in hand.

One of our standout innovations is the “Bedrock Truck”—a custom-built injection system capable of installing injectates in fractured bedrock layers, weathered bedrock, glacial till, and urban/historic fill. This powerful system enables us to inject dense slurries with precision, ensuring maximum contact with contaminants for more effective cleanup.

Another widely used, key invention is our GeoTAP  method, which solves the problem of accessing difficult subsurface conditions that often preclude the use of traditional direct push injection (DPT) techniques. GeoTAP combines drilling and injection of treatment solutions for remediation of challenging geologies at significant depths by constructing injectable access columns. Recently, it was deployed to 180 feet below ground surface at a defense site, but has been utilized for smaller sites too, such as gas stations.

Our commitment to delivering measurable and impactful results has led us to embrace performance-based contracting (PBC), where we guarantee outcomes based on our cutting-edge data acquisition and site evaluation software which develops a concise injection design, then we install specific product technologies with specific injection equipment. As an example, in 2024, in Linden, New Jersey, AST successfully reduced groundwater contamination by 99% in just six months at a former chemical facility under a PBC agreement.

These kinds of successes are what sets AST apart—we combine advanced technology with a commitment to achieving the best possible environmental outcomes.
